Steeltown Coffee & Tea opened in Old Town Pittsburg, California in 2009. 
Steeltown quickly became the "third place" for locals and visitors who were looking for great coffee, treats and a chill place to hang out with friends and family. 
Steeltown is the only independent commercial coffee roaster in Pittsburg and you can find us roasting our top-quality coffee on weekends, right in the café.

We do not currently rent out or reserve Steeltown Coffee & Tea for private events during or after business hours. If you want to learn more about hosting small groups at Steeltown during business hours, please check FAQ 3.

Steeltown has one large table that may be reserved for meetings or other small gatherings. The following restrictions apply to the large table:

1. The table must be reserved at least 24 hours in advance for your group.
2. To reserve the table, contact Steeltown by phone (leave a message) or via email at LEAST 24 hours in advance of your meeting. Note: the table may not always be available.
3. The table cannot be reserved on the weekends because it is in use for roasting coffee.
4. A maximum of 8 people are allowed at the table.
5. Existing seating only, no additional seating may be added to the table or nearby.
6. No outside food or beverages are allowed in Steeltown.
7. At least 50% of the attendees must be current customers.
8. No presentations, audio or visual equipment or amplified sound is allowed in Steeltown.
9. Steeltown reserves the right to modify these rules and restrictions at any time.

*Please note that most of these restrictions apply to all seating in the café.

Steeltown Coffee & Tea is an avid supporter of the arts in Pittsburg. As such we allow the local theater company, Pittsburg Theatre Company (PTC) to present plays in the café a few times a year.
If you happen to pass by and see people inside watching a show, feel free to inquire about the event at PTC's website. 

Steeltown encourages other Old Town businesses and organizations to promote themselves to our customers. The purpose of this is to raise awareness of other Old Town businesses and allow them to spread the word about special events or sales. There are two ways this can happen:

1. Display promotional cards in our card display on the condiment bar. Card should be no larger than 4'x6" and must fit in the card display rack. They may NOT be left on the counter. (Based on rack availability.) Cost: Free.
2. Display posters on the lobby wall behind the bar. Posters may be displayed on the bank side of the bar. They may be a maximum of 24"x36". (Based on availability.) Cost: $250/month per poster.

We recommend that you plan in advance to promote at Steeltown. Space is limited, and fills up in advance.

Steeltown is a community oriented café and we cater to people of all ages. We work hard to make Steeltown a comfortable and safe place for everyone to enjoy our specialty coffee and tasty treats. As such, respectful behavior toward all staff and customers is expected.

In order to provide a comfortable, friendly and enjoyable atmosphere for all our customers, we ask that you adhere to the following:

• Please be patient. All our drinks are custom made for you, by hand. This process takes a bit longer, but it's worth it!
• All seating inside and outside is reserved for current Steeltown customers.
• No food or drink, other than that provided by Steeltown, may be consumed inside the café.
• The public Wi-Fi is reserved for current Steeltown customers.
• The restroom is reserved for current Steeltown and Mechanics Bank customers.
• Please wear headphones if you are on the phone, listening to music or watching videos.
• Our parking lot is reserved for customers while patronizing  Steeltown or Mechanics Bank.
• Pets are not allowed in Steeltown. Contra Costa County Public Health Department only allows legal Service Dogs in restaurants. If you have a pet, please leave it outside when ordering as we cannot serve persons with pets in the café. We do provide a water bowl outside for all pets.
• No solicitation to customers or staff is allowed in the café. If you wish to discuss a product or service, please contact the management via phone or email.
